Santa Monica Restaurants | Main Street | M Street Kitchen
Formerly known as La Grand Orange, M Street Kitchen is one of the newer cool spots on Main Street, Santa Monica CA. I was there for brunch last week for the second time and just thought I’d share a bit about my experience. The vibe is very cool whether your sitting inside in the quasi contemporary sort of rustic dining room or your on the patio enjoying the people-watching on Main Street. They play a very eclectic mix of music. The wait staff are friendly and somewhat attentive. My friend ordered pancakes and the order was sent out incorrectly – she got orange/chocolate instead of the buttermilk that she ordered. As soon as we got the waiter’s attention, he jumped on it and her fresh hot pancakes were on the table within minutes. They were delicious. They bake everything fresh on site and you MUST try the homemade english muffin…do the Eggs Benedict and make sure the muffin is well toasted.
If you are a lover of Bacon, they serve a maple-soaked version that is unlike anything I have ever eaten before.
Their hamburger is absolutely delish so you want to make sure that if you go for brunch/breakfast, that you make it back for lunch or dinner another time. They use very fresh ingredients in everything, and I haven’t been disappointed once.
I can’t help but plug the $5 Bloody Mary. It wasn’t the best I have ever had, but how can you complain for 5 bucks! It was served in a pint size class with 2 stunning pimento olives…no lemon, no celery…but plenty of spice.
They take reservations right on their website which is a beautiful looking site so check it out.
